Sales Reports

You can track every item your business sells, whether it’s an entree on the menu, merchandise off the shelf, or a service you provide in your community. Item sales reports follow cash basis accounting practices, where sales are counted at the time of payment and updated when there is a refund.

- If you chose a reporting period that’s longer than 3 months, confirm the requested time range in the form that opens, and then click Submit Request. See Request a report for details.

Request a report

Selecting a date range of more than 3 months for any type of report requires you to submit a report request.

1. Select a date range of greater than 3 months. The Request a Report dialog appears.
2. Verify the selected date range and apply any additional filters.
3. Select Submit Request. When the report is ready, you'll receive an email.
4. Access the report in either of the following ways:
- From the email, click View Report.
- Log in to your Clover account and select Reporting > Requested Reports.

You can view requested reports for 7 days. Between 8 and 14 days, the report is displayed in the Requested Reports history list. After that, you'll need to submit a new request.

Export sales reports

Export a sales report to keep a record of sales information for a specific time period. Exporting produces a .csv (comma-separated value) file. You may open this file with a spreadsheet software such as Excel or import it into an accounting software such as Quickbooks or Xero.
1. Log in to your Clover account.
2. Select Reporting > Sales Report; then open the report you want to export.
3. Arrange the information to show what you want to export.
If the report has a Summary option, you can choose it to show and export all information, or select one of the time periods, for example, weekly. The time period options vary depending on the time frame you input when you ran or requested the report.
4. At the top right, click Export and save the .csv file.
5. On your computer, import the .csv file into a spreadsheet or accounting system for analysis.

If you don't export the requested report within 7 days, run or request the report again.
You may also search the Clover App Market to find apps or integrations that will help you automatically sync your accounts with Quickbooks and other accounting softwares.
Print sales reports to keep a record of what's displayed on the reporting page. You can print:
- Sales overview trends
- Sales overview full reports
- Comprehensive sales reports
- Sales by tender and card type reports

1. In a web browser, log in to your Clover account.
2. Select Reporting and open the report you want to print.
3. Use the filters, drill down to details, and arrange the report to show what you want to print. For the trends overview and trends full report, the printed version includes the charts; for the comprehensive report, the printed version includes the numbers.
4. At the top right, select Print.
5. If you’re generating a PDF file, choose Save as PDF.
6. If you’re printing the report, choose a printer, select landscape layout, and then select Print.

Get a multi-location Sales report

The Multi-location Sales report replaces the Payments report, which provides information about sales across all your locations. Although you can still request a Payments report, the multi-location sales report provides additional and improved accounting information, including:
- Gross sales, the total amount you’ve received from all goods sold
- Net sales, the amount remaining after subtracting discounts and refunds
- Partial payments
- Partial refunds
- Unpaid balances remaining from partial payments and refunds

1. From a browser, log in to your Clover account.
2. Select the menu that shows one of your business locations, and choose Multi-location Web Dashboard.
3. Select Reporting.
4. Choose an option:
- To see the new Sales report, select Request a report.
- To continue using the traditional Payments report, click Payments Report in the welcome message at the top of the page.
5. Choose a preset date range or a custom range you define, up to 3 months. For the custom date range, use the Start Date and End Date calendars. The default start time is 12:00 AM.
You can optionally use the clock to set a different start and end time. Keep in mind that, when you set a time range for a report, your browser’s local time zone determines the start time. For example, if you’re located in the United States Pacific time zone and you want your report to start in a New York time zone location (3,000 miles East and 3 hours later), specify a report starting time of 3 hours earlier.
6. Click Submit Request. Your report appears in the Pending column until it’s ready for you to view. You’ll receive a confirmation email when your report is ready.
